Our Ethos
At The Butterholic, people come first — whether it’s our team, our customers, or our community. We pour our hearts into every pastry because we know exactly who they’re for: the people who walk through our doors, the friends we share them with, our own families, and us too. They’re made with good ingredients, plenty of time, and the kind of care that makes them worth coming back for.
Community & Giving Back
From day one, we’ve wanted to do more than make pastries. We've always found ways to give back. Every Christmas Eve, we've partnered with Coffi on a “pay what you want” event, turning our pastries into donations. We've donated funds to charities, whether local, such as Carla's Lane Animals in Need, or more national, such as Magic Breakfast.
We also say yes when local charities reach out. We donate pastries and are always open for collaboration with Liverpool-based causes—whether that’s supporting fundraising events or feeding people in need.
How We Care
The Team
Our small but dedicated team shares a huge love for viennoiserie. Behind every croissant is a person who cares about your experience — from baking and handing over the pastry, to sourcing responsibly and training our baristas.
Quality & Integrity
We take what we do seriously — not just because we love pastries, but because we care about the people eating them.
Everything we make starts with good ingredients: French flour, high-quality butter, and a process that takes three days from start to finish. We don’t rush it, and we don’t cut corners. That’s what gives our pastries their flavour, their texture, and the consistency we’re proud of.
But quality isn’t just about taste — it’s about trust. How something is made, where it comes from, how it’s handled — those things matter to us. Behind the scenes, there’s a lot of care and attention going into every step, from sourcing and prep to hygiene, storage, and service.
We want every pastry to feel special — and every customer to feel confident that what they’re enjoying was made properly, with integrity and care.
Why It Matters
We’re not chasing growth at any cost. We’re building something rooted in trust, goodness, and real connection. Whether it’s supporting local causes, feeding someone with kindness, or just making sure every croissant is perfect—it all matters.
Here, the pastries aren’t just better—they’re made with purpose.
